An animated explainer video costs $5,000–$15,000 from a traditional agency over 4–6 weeks, $20–90 per month from a DIY tool with your own time not counted, or $1,500–$3,500 from us, with twenty candidate directions delivered free in 24 hours before you commit a dollar.
What an explainer video costs
| Option | Typical price | Turnaround | What you actually get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Traditional agency | $5,000–$15,000 | 4–6 weeks | Discovery calls, a script round, storyboard round, 1–2 animation rounds. Quality varies with the team on your account. |
| Freelancer | $1,000–$8,000 | 2–6 weeks | Enormous variance. You do the creative direction and project management yourself. |
| DIY tools (avatar and template editors) | $20–90/mo | hours | Avatar or template video. Fast, but templated — the output looks like the tool, not like your product. |
| 20cuts | $1,500–$3,500 | board in 24h, first cut in 5 business days | 20 free candidate directions rendered from your real product; you pick one; we produce the finished video. |
Agencies are not overcharging, for the most part. Their process is expensive because it runs on coordination: discovery meetings, account management, hand-keyframed animation, and revision cycles that each cross several calendars. We wrote up where the weeks actually go and the full agency vs. DIY decision separately.
Our actual prices
These prices match our public pricing page.
- Launch costs $1,500. You get 60–90 seconds in our house style with our house voice and one revision round, delivered in 4K and 1080p with a licensed soundtrack, captions, and a thumbnail. The first version arrives in 5 business days.
- Pro costs $2,750. The video runs up to 2.5 minutes and is matched to your brand, meaning your colors, fonts, and screens, with a choice of voice and music bed, two revision rounds, three short versions for ads and social, and YouTube metadata.
- Flagship costs $3,500. The video runs up to 3 minutes with a voice clone or your own recorded VO, three revision rounds, the full editable project (source files, per-scene files, and music stems), and a 72-hour first version.
Every tier includes full commercial rights, so the finished video is yours to use anywhere for as long as you like, and every tier carries a 100% money-back guarantee. Payment is 100% upfront via Stripe. There is no call to schedule and no quote to request, because the number above is the number.

Why we can price at a fraction of agency rates
We built the whole process around the candidate stage. You paste your product's URL, and roughly twenty short animated directions come back within 24 hours, free and watermarked, every frame built from your real UI. That one artifact replaces the agency's discovery call, script round, and storyboard round: you spec the video by picking rather than by meeting, so the human craft concentrates on the finished video you actually paid for.
If you need 3D character animation, filmed footage, or a brand mascot with a personality arc, we are the wrong shop. That work is genuinely expensive, and an agency is the right call.
What drives cost, everywhere
- Length drives the base price. Cost scales with runtime, but so does viewer drop-off, and most products are better served by 60–90 tight seconds than by 3 loose minutes.
- Revision structure decides whether the price is honest. Unlimited-revision offers price the chaos in, while fixed rounds with a stated change-order policy keep the number real. Our policy includes wording, pacing, color, and asset swaps, and quotes new scenes or a new thesis before any work happens.
- Custom visuals cost more than templates, and both have a catch. Template libraries are cheap and look it, while fully custom animation is beautiful and slow. Rendering from your real product UI is the middle path, specific to you without hand-drawing every frame.
- Voice is a solved line item until you record your own. A good house voiceover is cheap enough that the question is taste rather than technology, while custom recorded VO adds cost and a booking dependency.
